Is Vaccination For Measles For A Child Of 9 Years Necessary To Take?

With the current scare about measles at Disneyland I'm getting attacked by my family for not vaccinating my child who is now 9 and never had a serious illness, never had antibiotics or over the counter drugs. I feel the risk of her getting deathly ill from the measles does not warrant my running out to quench their fears by vaccinating my daughter. Am I foolish ? How can you help me defend my position.
