Is Vaginal Intercourse Advisable While Treating HSV-2 In Anal Region?

I have HSV 2 in my anal region so is it dangerous to have vaginal sex im slightly confused because the bf i had when figuring this out never contracted HSV anywhere and still hasnt and its been months almost a year since. Can you give me anymore information on this
