Is Whooshing Sound And Blocked Ear Symptoms Of Tinnitus?

I have just recently started getting a whooshing sound in my ears . Several weeks ago I had a bad headcold for about 4-6 weeks. I am prone to sinus infections and usually end up taking some type of antibiotic to get rid of them. I also had a blocked ear around the same time as the cold. I always have a lot of congestion in my nose and have trouble getting water out of my ears after showering. Is there any possibility That I have a case Tinnitus and, what should i do to resolve. Is this very serious or, is it generally temporary after an infection or bad cold. Please advise. Kevin P Chapman
