Isn't High Blood Pressure A Sign Of A Stroke? My

Isn't high blood pressure a sign of a stroke? My husband has been having a dull subtle type pain on the left side of his face down his neck and in to his left arm and left leg. I took him to the E.R Saturday and they did an EKG, a chest X-Ray, and blood work. So they ruled out any kind of Heart Disease potential Heart Attack risk and really anything to do with the heart. I guess we were at such ease about it not being his heart we completely forgot to ask about Stroke factors. He also has a fatty bulge on the left side of his neck which he was advised to follow up with his family doctor about. So he goes today for that. My question to you is should we be concerned about possible Stroke potential? And if so who should he ask to be referred to when he sees his regular Dr today? A Neurologist or who? Thank You for your time and opinion!
