Ive Been Couching For Over A Month Now. This Comes

Ive been couching for over a month now. This comes and goes. And it's normally followed by dark yellow mucus. I never ever smoked in my life. Sometimes it's hard to sleep because I cough too much and get stuck in the throat by the endless mucus. What could it be?
