I've Been Having Eye Irritation Lately. Eye Dr. Says It's

I've been having eye irritation lately. Eye Dr. says it's a condition caused by bacteria that live around my eyelashes and eat the dead skin that happens. I want to know the correct term for the condition so I can research it further. He called it what sounded like "flufferitis" but that must not be the correct term. Can you tell me what it is?
