I've Been Having Facial Muscle Cramps On The Left Side

I've been having facial muscle cramps on the left side of my face/mouth for almost two weeks. Think charley horse leg cramp pain but in your face. It accompanied tooth pain. I went to my dentist (I wasn't sure what else to do) and he blew it off as stress and possibly the beginning of a TMJ disorder. The left jaw area/side of my face is now mildly swollen and is HOT to the touch. This seems like a not so good thing to me but it's my face so maybe I'm a bit biased... (Ha). Anywho, should I be worried?
