I've Been On Prilosec For Years Now (probably 15 Years

I've been on Prilosec for years now (probably 15 years or more). The last 4-6 months I have been having worse and worse GERD attacks at night. They wake me up, I'm sweating profusely and it takes hours to get everything (heart rate, pulse, acid in throat, etc) 'calmed down'. I seem to, lately, have a permanent burning sensation in my throat, I'm constantly coughing due to this and right after a GERD attack I'm very hoarse. Lately when I eat, or drink, I feel like whatever I just ingested is getting stuck in my throat...even though it isn't. I'm having trouble sleeping (I'm AFRAID to sleep)....getting woken up with a GERD attack is HORRIBLE, and I'm getting afraid to eat. I've reduced myself to 1 meal a day (usually) and eat it around late afternoon (3-3:30pm). This is getting horrible. Help!
