I've Been On Effexor Xr For 10 Years And Have

I've been on effexor xr for 10 years and have been on Amakacin for three months for a mycobacterium infection. The effexor isn't working. It's as if I've not been taking it even though I have faithfully and getting zapped and headaches. Is it possible for Effexor to suddenly stop working?
