I've Been On Sprintec For Almost 6 Months Now And

I've been on sprintec for almost 6 months now and here recently I've been getting brown discharge. I've been taking my pills late this week and that could be the reasoning. I also started my period early could both of these just be a side effect of me taking them late? I'm a virgin so it can't be anything due to sexual intercourse but I'm worried anyways.
