I've Been On The Contraceptive Implant For Almost A Year

I've been on the contraceptive implant for almost a year after being on the depo injection for four years before hand, having no periods what so ever, but suddenly have been getting very dark almost black, thick period blood for the past two days with back pains. This seems very unusual for myself and I'm slightly worried. Is this normal?
