I've Been Skipping My Period For 4 Months Using Birth

I've been skipping my period for 4 months using birth control pills. I started having some light spotting and cramps on the first week of a new pack. Should I take a break and let my period happen or should I continue the rest of the pack. I'm worried the spotting won't stop until I get a period. Thanks
