I've Been Taking 500 Mg Metronidazole And 300 MgClindamycin Since

I've been taking 500 mg Metronidazole and 300 mgClindamycin since last Wednesday 3 s's per day. I'm prescribed it till Saturday. I don't have pain in my tooth unless something touches it. If I press on the gum or bone above the tooth I do have pain. Why has the antibiotics not stopped the pain to the touch? Will I lose my tooth if the pain is still there Saturday when I'm scheduled to complete my Root Canal?
