I've Been Taking Allopurinol For Over Three Months For Gout

I've been taking allopurinol for over three months for gout attacks. I'm currently in the middle of an attack right now. What can I do to prevent this from happening? I've already cut out red meat and red wine fro my diet, but, I keep having attacks. The prednisone and NSAIDS prescribed to me really screws with my blood pressure. Any suggestions?
