I've Been Taking Penicillin For A Bad Bout Of Tonsillitis

I've been taking penicillin for a bad bout of tonsillitis for two days now. I've had the contraceptive coil for three years and haven't had a period since starting that form of contraception. On day two of taking my antibiotic I start a period, is it because I've been taking strong antibiotics?
