I've Been Using A New Acne Medicine For About A

I've been using a new acne medicine for about a week, and for a while it seemed to be working. I had no more acne, and my skin felt soft and smooth. Then, after about 6 days of use my skin started to burn when it came in contact with the medicine. I stopped using the medicine, and now my skin is dry and peeling and has a horrible burning sensation on contact with anything. I've also been noticing red blotches where the burning is most brutal.
