I've Been Using The Nuvaring For A Few Years Now

I've been using the Nuvaring for a few years now and my last gyno appointment my doc told me I could skip my period with no problems. I'm starting to think she was wrong. I started my period on April 5 3 days before I was due to change my ring. I took it out on Tuesday the 7 put in a new one a week later. I've been bleeding ever since. Last Thursday it got incredibly heavy and clotty. It slowed down this past Sunday the 19th. This evening it's starting to get heavy and clotty again. I don't know what I should do.
