I've Got A Ten Year Old Daughter That Keeps Having

I've got a ten year old daughter that keeps having fits over seemingly small things. It seems like anything we ask her to do is met with a temper tantrum. We've tried loving reassurance, increasing consecences, ignoring the behavior. But, nothing seems to work. This doesn't seem like normal behavior. Could we be dealing with a physical or pscological issue? How do we figure this out?
