I've Had A Bug About A Month Or So Ago

I've had a bug about a month or so ago and the coughing has not stopped since then. It is a painful cough with I become light headed. I'm wondering if this is just the "bug" with a slow healing process for the lungs. I did take day and nightquill for about three days during the time when I had the problem a month ago.
