I've Had A Couple Of Incidents Of A Sharp Pain

I've had a couple of incidents of a sharp pain on the far left side of my chest, just under my armpit over the past week. It feels as if it's just under skin level, by a rib. It goes away within a couple of minutes. Is this something that needs immediate attention or can it wait until my next scheduled doctor appointment on Jan. 31st?
