I've Had A Pain In My Sternum Area That Feels

I've had a pain in my sternum area that feels like I have a bruise. I've had for 2 months already. Every time I drink something I feel a discomfort. When I sleep and turn I feel the same discomfort. I went to the ER about 3 weeks ago and I was told that I had chondritis and that I would go away within 3 weeks. They prescribed ibuprofen, but the nothing has change since. Actually the discomfort has gotten worse. Should I be concerned? Thank you.
