I've Had A Swollen Lymph Node Under My Arm For

I've had a swollen lymph node under my arm for a few while now. I've read up and saw that it's a sign that your body is fighting infection, and I've caught what I think is tonsillitis. But I have had tonsillitis for a very brief period, while the swollen lymph node has been there for weeks. Should I be worried?
