I've Had An Ingrown Hair On My Mons Pubis Once

I've had an ingrown hair on my mons pubis once in my life. I could not retrieve it and by this time it became big and painful. I went to the emergency room and received an I &D.. Now it seems like ever since then I've been getting these similar abscesses only on my mons pubis like once a month.. Could the infection still be roaming around creating more of these ingrown hair bumps but sometimes I haven't even shaved yet...and now I'm afraid to shave because I know one of these nodules will show up
