I've Had Chronic Insomnia For Over A Month Though Ambien

I've had chronic insomnia for over a month though ambien helped initially I've built up a tolerance. Was prescribed two other medications zoloft, and amitriptyline. Neither has worked. Last night I only slept 4 hours tonight haven't been able to sleep at all. At one point during this I was up 40 hours in a row. Is my life in danger?
