I've Had Epilepsy For Years....grand Mal Seizures. Lately I'm Experiencing

I've had epilepsy for years....grand mal seizures. Lately I'm experiencing something very different, occasional episodes where my brain locks up like a record player that's stuck. I do not lose conciousness during these episodes (so far) but after one such event I was left paralyzed for a few hours. This was not like the common Todds paralysis after a seizure. Finally, and this I find most strange these eventsccan sometimes be triggered by my whistling.....I know, that part sounds a bit absurd, appreciate any help.
