I've Had My Iud For Almost A Year And My

I've had my iud for almost a year and my periods had settled down. Last month I didn't have a period so went to the Drs to have a pregnancy test as I had all the symptoms but that came back negative. I have now started bleeding again and it's bright red and I'm bleeding a lot and have really bad cramps. Is this normal
