I've Had Really Bad Allergies All My Life. Tis Year

I've had really bad allergies all my life. Tis year they were really bad. I normally take Sudafed buy it wasn't working. I took zyrtec for the first time this year and it really helped. I'm all cleared up despite my runny nose, but now I can't taste anything. It's all blan and kinda mucus like gross tasting. Why am I suffering from lack of taste? Is never happened before with allergies.
