I've Had Ringing, Echoing, And Fullness In One Ear For

I've had ringing, echoing, and fullness in one ear for 1.5 week. It started with sharp pain one night. I went to my Dr the next day and she confirmed "otitis media serous with mild capillary rupture. I started augmentin and Prednisone. I had my ear rechecked yesterday and it appeared all cleared up, however it felt the same (fullness/heaviness, echo and ringing). Today I visited an ENT who also confirmed everything appears normal. However, my hearing test showed some hearing loss due to what they think is nerve related. They recommend a strong round of Prednisone and recheck in about 10-12 days. They didn't feel the nerve and hearing change was related to the ear infection. However, I find it puzzling that these symptoms appeared when there was an infection but feels the same now after the fluid is gone. An advice on what this could be? Perhaps I just need to give the steroids another chance to work and hope it dries up whatever is hiding in my ear! Thanks for your attention.
