I've Had Swollen Tonsils For A Few Days And I

I've had swollen tonsils for a few days and I can barely even drink anything let alone eat. and also, I have a lot of phlem and mucus stuck in my throat and I constantly have to cough it up. I went to the hospital and they told me just to take advil but it hasn't worked one bit.
