I've Have Pain In My Left Temple For 8 Days

I've have pain in my left temple for 8 days right where the vein is. The vein in a small section is painful and very sensitive to touch. I went to the doc after 4 days and he thinks it is an inflamed vein. He asked if I maybe bumped or hit it on something. Its possible I did considering I have a very physical outdoor job but I do not recall hitting it. I'm not feeling any other obvious symptoms other than normal aches. There is no swelling or discoloration in the painful area that I can see. It looks normal. But after 8 days it has not gotten any better but also I don't think its got any worse. Pain is not extreme but definitely is very aggravating. I was thinking of going back to doctor. Any suggestions? I'm 45 years old & 135 pound male in real good shape. Thanks...
