Ive Just Started Taking Sucralfate 1 Gm Tablet. 4 Days

Ive just started taking sucralfate 1 gm tablet. 4 days and I'm increasingly itchy on my legs; I've been allergic to a variety of other meds in recent years, with inceasing side affects. Should I stop taking this drug or will my body adjust? I took benedryl today to tame the itching, but I don't want to take that forever. What do you suggest?
