I've Recently Been Spending Time With A Friend That Smokes

I've recently been spending time with a friend that smokes cannabis, he says, when he gets high, that his right wrist gets painful. I don't have any knowledge of what the problem could be but he's had this problem for roughly a week. Any idea if what it could be?
