I've Used A Tampon For The First Time Today, It

I've used a tampon for the first time today, it was fine putting it in. I could feel it when I sit down and it was uncomfortable. I have tryed to take it out but it hurts A LOT and I couldn't do it. Is there anything I could do to stop it hurting when I try take it out??
