Just Diagnosed With Ecoli Uti. Culture Came Back With Bacteria

Just diagnosed with ecoli uti. Culture came back with bacteria sensitive to every antibiotic. But doxycycline was not listed. I would prefer using this for uti, because I don't get any reaction, plus since I am always at risk for Lyme , I figured kill 2 birds with one stone. Is doxycycline effective in utis with ecoli.
Macrobid looks like it has more potentially dangerous side effects.
