Last Monday I Fell Landing On My Hip After Tripping

Last Monday I fell landing on my hip after tripping on a paving slab. one week later I still have a lot of black bruising from top of my leg/hip down near to the knee.. and width of my right leg. I have had a bit sore, but thankful I did not break my hip. I have never seen such a large bruise.. centre of it is beginning to yellow and take it is getting better.. Would I have done any long term damage I am 68 in 2 weeks time. I do not know how to treat bruising and have not put anything on it, but areas are still very black.This week I have felt no encouragement in my mammoth task of packing as I'm moving in 2 weeks !
