Last November I went into sepsis shock. I was in my doctors office, which I don't remember, for a check up because I told my husband I just don't feel good. At the doctors office I threw up everywhere and then they could not get a pulse on me. I was taken to the hospital which lucky for me was across the street. They got a pulse (a weak one) at the hospital but my blood pressure dropped again. They called a code blue and managed to bring me back but I was not responsive. I was put on a breathing machine, IV to give me fluids. Basically machines were keeping me alive. I was given antibiotics through an IV. I was in a coma for 13 days, hooked up to machines and IV's. My husband was asked how long did he want them to keep me alive. Luckily he said he wasn't sure and then I woke up the next day. I was told that my lungs were full of ammonia and the infection was spreading throughout my organs. I had to do some therapy for speech, math and basic loss of physical strength. I was able to go home after two months. I was still weak but had physical therapy which helped. About 3 weeks ago my husband noticed I was sleeping a lot. He took me to the doctors and they found that my ammonia was starting to accumulate in my lungs again. He also noticed I had some bowel blockage and said to take stool soft liquid.
Medications I am currently on are: Keppra for seizures, Hypothyroid, Antidepressant, stool softener, Vit B complex, multivitamins. I also make my own smoothies (fresh fruit, water and some Greek yogurt).
Now the question: How long if ever will I get my energy back? I realize it is hard to say but a general ball park would be nice.
