Last Saturday Afternoon, Suddenly I Started To Smell That Someone

Last Saturday afternoon, suddenly I started to smell that someone was smoking around me... but no one in the house smokes... it's gotten worse over the past few days and now I seem to have also developed a metallic taste in my mouth. I'm female and 55 years old... the only other thing is for the past year I've had an on and off ear ache in my left ear, like a child (I've been rubbing Vic's vapour rub on the outside of my ear) and at the beginning of August I was treated for sinus, but mostly post nasal drip in the back of my throat.
