Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Last month the sceral buckle in my left eye had to be removed by my specialist who told me the surgery had nothing to do with an incident arising out of an automobile accident about a year ago that involved blunt force trauma to left side of my face near my left eye. After the surgery my retina specialist stated that my need for surgery at that time had nothing to do with the blunt force trauma I sustained in my car accident. My question is Why is my surgeon telling me that the blunt force trauma did no damage to my left eye that would have caused my need for the surgery he performed to remove the scleral buckle. Is my doctor telling me that the buckle is immune to any negative effects of blunt force trauma?
