Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Last weekend I went on a hiking trip.. I was carrying a backpack that weighed about 50 lbs. I tripped, fell down and caught myself with my hands. I had a real intense pain in my wrist but Didnt notice much swelling. Something that struck me as odd was I instantly had this lump on my wrist (the side where the base of the thumb is). It's 6 days later and I can't lift anything with that hand(I tried to grab 2 hand towels to pick them up and my wrist have put on me), can't bend it backwards at all( I was trying to stretch it out by putting both palms together and pointing my fingers up in the air). I had a radius fracture before, and so I feel a little silly thinking this could be anything other than a sprain. It hurts but I can still move it. Should I go get this checked out or is it most likely a sprain?
