Lately After I Have Eaten, I Find That Small Pieces

Lately after I have eaten, I find that small pieces of food are stuck behind my left nostril/back of throat area. I can usually breath in sharply and get it to come into my mouth and swallow it but that is getting more difficult. Please advise if there is a way to get it out an what might be causing it.
