Looking Down On Foot,Skin On Top Of Foot, Right At

Looking down on foot,Skin on top of foot, right at the area where the toes begin to devide. At first what i thought was "athletes foot". A small opening in the skin but a small patch of crusty (leatherylike) skin surrounding it. but it was unlike athletes foot in that it was not exactly down in between the toes like normal. It wasn't moist or "pealy" I finally got the opening to heal w/ otc ointments etc..but these same ointments (and i tried all of them) also instead of soothing and healing the skin, only stiffened the skin and very much widened the area . now it is all very much crusty, dry and painful
