MY 17 Year Old Son Has Been Diagnosed With Cam

MY 17 year old son has been diagnosed with Cam impingement. He has labral tearing in the right hip and surgery is recommended immediately. What is the long term effect from this tearing and what is the prognosis folowing surgery? I might also add that he is an up and coming bullrider and he is completely sold out in doing everything to make this dream come true.
