Me And My Boyfriend Are Trying To Have A Baby.

Me and my boyfriend are trying to have a baby. But there are some issues , my periods are very irregular , sometimes I'll go 3 or 4 months without one , and I know that makes it very difficult because if I'm not having periods , I'm not ovulating. My doctor put me on birth control pills to help regulate my period , and I stopped taking them for about 2 months , and my period is still not coming. I was wondering , if I were to take my birth control , and then stop for the seven days I'm supposed to will my chances of pregnancy be higher ? And if not what can help ?
