Mother Is 55 Years Old. Had A Cough That Started

Mother is 55 years old. Had a cough that started 6 months ago along with what she thought was a bad cold. Been to primary doctor several times since then, been on several rounds of antibiotics and steroids with no relief. Is now at the point of exhaustion, she cannot sleep because she immediately starts coughing when she lays down. Is spitting up phlegm and says she feels like she is carrying around a bag of jelly in her lungs. Had also been diagnosed with pneumonia about 2-3 months ago, but is told that it's not there anymore. Cough is progressing and getting worse. Has also been chocking because of the cough. Seeing a Pulmonary doctor, but all he keeps checking for is asthma and doing breathing tests. I am concerned that it is cancer, but they have yet to do a biopsy. An er doctor recently did a chest X-Ray and told her her lungs have what looks like calcium deposits, but Pulmonary says there's nothing there. The recent xray has also shown a change since the other one has been done, which means a growth of whatever is in there. This being only within the last couple of months.
