My 10 Lb Dog Was Diagnosed With Kidney Failure A

My 10 lb dog was diagnosed with kidney failure a year ago we tried the pills and special diet but it just became to costly so we have let her live her life she still plays and runs but cannot control her bladder at all
Is this a painful disease for her ? We cannot decide on putting her down because she doesn't seem to be in any pain
