My 10 Year Old Grandson Has Been Diagnosed With Hsp

My 10 year old grandson has been diagnosed with hsp and is on his fourth week of recovery. As part of his treatment he was placed on steroids which caused severe stomach pain and vomitting. He is now off the steroids but is still very weak and with little appetite. My question is two-fold - Will there be long term consequences in his health for taking steroids and will there be further health problems because of the hsp? He has lost weight and possibly muscle mass and these things concern me.
