My 10 Year Old Had A Temporary Blindness Episode This

My 10 year old had a temporary blindness episode this morning. While I was doing her hair and aproximately 30 minutes after she woke up, she all of a sudden said she could not see. I placed my hand in front of her face and she did not respond to my hand. She said she needed to lay down. About 10 minutes later, she was fine and acted as if nothing happened. Could this be a symptom for Type 1 Diabetes or something else.
