My 11 Year Old Granddaughter Has Been Sick For A

My 11 year old granddaughter has been sick for a week. She has a fever ranging from 99 to 101. She has a bad cough. Her throat is sore. She is tired.Two doctors have said it is viral, and there is nothing to be done for her. She is eating and drinking well. Three years ago she was very ill and had to be put in the hospital. They kept her for a week and finallly tried an antibiotic which did the trick. I know doctors are hesitant to prescribe antibiotics, but it seems something could be done.
