My 12 Yr Old Has A ASO Over 200 Under

My 12 yr old has a ASO over 200 under 300 the doctor said. He has had repeated strep infections over the years. In the spring he had a rash that the nurse practitioner thought was viral but was scarletina. It went untreated. The doctor has him on Penicillin VK 500 2x a day! Im STRESSED. He wants him on it a year!
