My 13 Year Old Son Has Very Red Hands, Slight

My 13 year old son has very red hands, slight fever, itchy patches of dry skin. Approx 2 weeks ago he was treated for a virus and was given a 7 day steroid pack and moisturizer to apply twice daily. He completed the steroids on Tuesday. Today after school he noticed that the severe redness returned to his hands and he felt unusually fatigued. Could this be the continued virus symptoms?
